I seem to have become engaged.

It doesn't feel any different from not being. Much.

The answers to the inevitable questions:

I do not have an engagement ring and don't want one. Sorry.
I am keeping my name.
Hopefully as soon as is sane.. umm... maybe November, and it'll be quiet.

I am now going to count how many instances of each of these I get in real life.

We'll keep it quiet and pay for everything ourselves. Therefore nobody with any excuse to lean on us for what they want, and therefore I can be as nasty as I like ;-)

I had been thinking of you as engaged since that post you made some months (or years?) ago.

Congratulations, & good luck with keeping the wedding small.

(If you have a party inna pub a few weeks after the wedding, though? That might (or might not) be fun).

You'd be surprised at the number of people who don't, especially when they're setting up house or whatever and would prefer to spend the money on something else.

I am keeping my name.

I'd probably keep my name if I got married too.

Yay! More dancing rodents.

No engagement ring means no crawling around the bed and the floor, desperately searching for emeralds which have dropped out, and eventually giving up and having them replaced, only to discover it's virtually impossible to get emeralds in that shade of green any more. Not that my mum's had any influence on me, you understand...
